Our two Vienna apartments are for the same kind of trip, a city break, but they are different homes in different parts of town. One is in a calm residential quarter within walking distance of the old town, the other is a spacious duplex in a lively district further out. The choice mostly comes down to how many of you there are and how you plan to get around.

Landstraße, 3rd district: the apartment near the old town

The 2BR Apartment Near Prater & City Center is in the Weißgerberviertel, a calm residential quarter within walking distance of Wien Mitte, the Danube Canal and the historic centre. Trams, buses and the U-Bahn are close by. St. Stephen's Cathedral, the State Opera, the Belvedere and Schönbrunn are easy to reach by public transport, and so is Vienna International Airport.

It has two bedrooms and one bathroom with a bathtub, and sleeps up to five. There is a desk and a laptop-friendly workspace, and the listing describes fast WiFi. It does not list parking.

    Ottakring, 16th district: the duplex

The Vienna City Duplex Apartment Ottakring is a two-storey home in a lively district west of the centre, with good public transport into the city. It has four bedrooms and two bathrooms and sleeps up to nine, which makes it the one for a family or a group of friends who want to be under one roof.

There is a parking garage right next door where a space can be booked, and the property page shows the daily rate. A desk and a laptop-friendly workspace are listed here too.
